My grandfather who is 90 years old sold the home he has lived in for the last 50 years. This weekend was emotional for me and my family as we had our last family gathered one last time to say goodbye to…

 A house that has held so many memories (good and bad).

 A house that raised four brothers and one sister.

 A house where seven grandchildren came to visit. And later seven great-grandchildren.

 A house that has seen graduations, wedding, births, and deaths.

 A house that I grew up in as child, playing barbies, playing hide and seek, and playing with the neighborhood children who have since moved out of the neighborhood many years ago.

 A house that was full of rescue dogs and cats (as many as 12 at one time).

 A house that was not full of riches, but rather sentimental treasures.

 A house where we all would sit by our grandmothers bed side and listen to her stories of her younger years.

 A house that was filled with as many nicknacks my grandmother could find the space for. Not even a inch of wall space remained.

 A house we all came to, to comfort our grandfather the day our grandma passed away.

 A house that now is now stripped down to  bare walls, so eerily different than what this house has represented to all of us all these years.

 A house that  will forever be apart of all of us!  It's memories run deep. But the time has come.... It will live on with a new family and will  bring them so much joy as it did for my family the last 50 years.

 This was our last goodbye. It means EVERYTHING to have my daughter have this moment with her only living Great-Grandparent. She may not remember him when he is gone, but she will have this moment to forever look back on.  

 At the end of the day its not the actual stuff that we have to keep, it's the memories in our hearts that will always speak.
